Does Acid Reflux Damage Your Vocal Chords?

My parents recently told me that I have had acid reflux for my whole life. I’ve been on medication (Prevacid) for it now for about 4 months. It was never really that bad. But even with the medication I can tell that I get it sometimes. Singing and acting are a HUGE part of my life, and I don’t want to lose that. Does acid reflux damage your vocal chords?

I think it can but only if its really bad and not being treated. My half sister has acid reflux and she had a really beautiful voice but she neglected her health. She still has a great voice but its just different then it was before.

it shouldnt unless you suffer from very bad acid reflux, have a look into natural remedies to combat it naturally as this may be better than the medication i guess.
