I’ve had a persistent cough for about 4 years and it always gets worse after I eat or drink (especially milk), my doctor keeps telling me its post nasal drip, but I get it even if my sinuses are clear, is it acid reflux?

After seeing this video, I stopped taking nexium. I have a hiatal hernia. I had been on it for about 2 years. I now eat a good breakfast, lunch and an early dinner (no later than 6:00 PM). I eat CLEAN food. Lots of fruit, berries, egg white omelets, oatmeal clean chicken and fish and drink a lot of water. I have lost about 10 pounds in 3 weeks. I also exercise 3X per week. My allergies and draining into my throat has stopped and I am sleeping better. Believe it!

I have had GERD and intense esophageal pain for 12 years. Lateley, it has been frequent. I think stress aggravates GERD. I also suffer with constipation so I must have toxicity. I just started a Whole Body Cleanse for the first time. I tested positive for wheat (slight sensitivity) and just had some of that in dinner. A Lime flavored mint really triggered the pain tonight. I’m trying to take herbs with food now. I would like to just have the surgery and get back my health!

Wow…eye opening. I have allergies, sleep apnea, sinus problems, & irritable bowel syndrome. I am on Nexium for reflux. The truth is, though, when I eat less, and eat dinner early, I don’t have as much trouble.
I really appreciate your thoughtful and informative video.
Any suggestions on diet?
Thanks again!

I’m amazed that so many young people posting are on medication. I’m 40 I exercise maintain a healthy weight and only take vitamins and antioxidents to keep my immune system up. Th3e answer to a healthy life style doesn’t always come in the form of a pill.

Funny thing is, I’ve had GERD for 10 years and it gets worse when I’m on an empty stomach. Eating helps to ease the problem.
Also, i’ve tried multiple multiple changes in diet.. I eat well & try to buy as much organic foods as I can afford… quit smoking 8 years ago… etc etc etc No help.
On top of that, when i’m sick and I forget to take my drugs (Prevacid), I DO NOT GET REFLUX. Autoimmune? There must be a reason.

I’ve come to the conclusion that the stomach is approximately the size of your fist. Overeating causes the stomach to stretch and produce more acid than is normal. I’m finding improvement by simply eating portions no larger than the size of my fist. So far so good.

you should be able to find it at a health food store or a Whole Foods grocery store. There are several brands- I got Solana Gold which is organic, raw, and unfiltered with “veil of the mother”

its been 3 months now since my last post, I’ve gotten really well. I eat a lot of home meals , I eat spanish foods, but beans often trigger my acid reflux. I eat Mc donalds once a blue moon and I feel good. But I often have to spit but I don’t spit mucus its a clear subtance.Thats my only complaint. I had this for 2 1/2 years and I’m noticing a pattern , I believe the main cause is stress and anxiety.

Better to be a ’slave’ to one’s diet than to one’s acid reflux. And we all know where acid reflux leads, esp. compared to where a good diet leads.
Best of wishes~

Shit, for a year I had problems with my throat and it appeared its the acid reflux. And now I am supposed to be a slave of a diet. Simply great.

I’m concerned for my dad ’cause he’s been getting heartburn for some time and is taking a pill every day for it. He’s felt indigestion after certain beers/ales, and I think it’s directly linked to alcohol, but sometimes he can drink a lot of wine and be ok, so I’m unsure what else is causing it. I want to write down what he eats and drinks before it happens again so I can find a connection, but now he’s taking a pill, how do I find out? He doesn’t want to rely on medication either.
