I was diagnosed with gastritis not too long ago but I have been showing acid reflux symptoms for awhile. Is it possible to have both of these at the same time? I am on Nexium, is this medicine for acid reflux as well? Thanks.

Reflux is a symptom of Gastritis……..
Yes I have also suffered from these at the same time. I did my own research and discovered it is caused by a bacterial infection in the gut and cured mine by eating lots of unsweetened yogurt. It puts the balance of good and bad bacteria back into the stomach. Try it and good luck.
Yes, my mother has had gastritis for 25 years and severe acid reflux GERD for 5 years. Throwing away nexium and starting digestive enzyme supplements, GERD was gone within 2 weeks, gastritis was improved 80% in 6 months. If you have the H Pylori bacteria, then you will need 2 weeks of antibiotics to eradicate it.

The acid reflux causes the gastritis. Gastritis is just a fancy way of saying “the gastric area is irritated”, and it gets irritated by the excessive acid… if left untreated for long time and there is a lot of excessive acid production it can cause esophageal erosion and bleeding.
